Vama Veche

You can get here by bus from Bucharest (3-4 hours) or a train to Mangalia (3.5 hours, 12EUR) and then a taxi from there to the beach at Vama Veche.


Sinaia

Sinaia is one of the famous mountain resorts in Romania and, as such, an exciting day trip from Bucharest for remote workers. The highlight of a trip to Sinaia is a visit to Peles Castle which is often regarded as the most architecturally-prominent castle in the country - this attraction, boasting incredible neo-Renaissance styles, offers guided tours of the building and is a great experience in general. Also recommended in Sinaia is a visit to the local monastery and relaxing at Dimitre Ghica Park. Wonderful nature hikes and more outdoors activities are available at the Bucegi Mountains to the east of Sinaia. It is easy to get here - just catch a train from Gara du Nord Station for less than 40 leu, with the trip lasting around 2 hours.


Bran Castle and Brasov

Located firmly in Transylvania, Brasov is an obligatory day trip from Bucharest for remote workers looking to experience Romanian culture in full. Of course, Bran Castle is one of the most important attractions in the area and the castleโ€™s architecture and interior certainly do not disappoint. The nearby town of Brasov is surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains and offers an exciting extension to any trip to Bran Castle or a day trip itself. This old, charming town has cultural influences spanning the width of Europe and offer visitors plenty of fantastic dining and lodging options. Hiking the Tampa Mountain for sweeping views of the town is a popular thing to do here. Getting to Brasov by car is easy from Budapest (2.5 hours) and also by train from Gara du Nord (2.5 hours, 60 Leu).
