Flow Specialty Coffee and Bistro

Located in the lively neighborhood of Terezvaros on the emblematic Andrassy Avenue, Flow is one of the best cafes for remote workers looking to get some work done in a productive setting with great food and coffee. Flow boasts one of the city’s best vegan kitchens and is popular among a younger, socially-conscious crowd for its organic dishes and drinks. Madal

Madal is one of the earliest specialty coffee-houses in the city and throughout the years it has perfected its art to become one of the best cafes for remote workers in Budapest. The Lipovaros location is our favorite of Madal’s 3 stores across the city because of its ample space and valuable sense of community. The Lipotvaros location, just a stone throw’s away from the Danube, is popular among the local remote worker community and provides an excellent opportunity for casual networking. The space is welcoming and designed in the wooden style, with plenty of seating and excellent coffee and cakes available throughout the day.

The Nook Specialty Coffeeshop

The Nook claims to be the “first laptop-friendly specialty coffeeshop in Budapest” and is certainly a hit among the local student and remote worker community. The cafe is located conveniently in the Palace District and is easily reachable by foot from downtown Buda or Belvaros. It is also very close to the city’s best museums and to the city’s main nightlife centers in Josefvaros and Erzsebetvaros nearby. The cafe’s design is modern and minimalistic, providing ample space for working and tasting some of the tasty cakes and great coffee served here.

Kino Cafe

Located in the relaxed and modern neighborhood of Ujlipotvaros, Kino Cafe has charm and versatility, which puts it onto our list of best cafes for remote workers in Budapest. The terrace at Kino is certainly one of its highlights - you can catch some great wifi from here while you work in the sun and among this neighborhood’s friendly inhabitants. Kino’s location is also fantastic, located away from the main touristic centers but still close to the Margaret Bridge into Buda and the relaxing Margaret Island. You’ll love Kino’s friendly community of regulars, as well as its great prices. Kino doubles up as an independent cinema sometimes, so be sure to catch a local film here!

Massolit Bookstore and Cafe

Massolit is certainly one of the coziest cafes for remote workers in Budapest, and certainly recommended for book-lovers and those living in Erzserbetvaros. Massolit is located right in the heart of Budapest’s Jewish Quarter and, as an independent Jewish bookstore, is a local institution of sorts. The space itself is small but there is a strong table-sharing culture and the charming decor and great cakes make the wait for a seat certainly worth it. There is also a lovely terrace at Massolit, which makes for excellent breaks from work during Hungarian springs.
